I had just given birth to my first baby and was sitting in the waiting room at my six-week follow-up appointment when I read in a magazine that for the first time in two centuries the current generation of children would have a shorter life expectancy than their parents. Looking at my perfect newborn, I wondered why that might be and began researching. That was 12 years ago now, and since then, I’ve founded an award-winning wellness blog and am the author of three bestselling books on how to live a healthy life.
